The Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh has appealed to Nigerians to give their full support to the national team when they play the Pharaohs of Egypt in the first leg of the crucial 2017 Africa Nations Cup qualifier in Kaduna.

Remorseful Oliseh who earlier condemned his critics as ‘insane’, appealed to Nigerians to turn out en masse on the match day, adding that only a mammoth crowd will overwhelm the Egyptians.

“Let’s forget what has happened in the past. We’re Nigerians and must unite to ensure that our flag flutter both in the World Cup and the Africa Cup of Nations,” he told Brila FM.

“There is hope because the crowd that I saw in the Kano Pillars game with Rangers can overwhelm the Egyptians if they turn up in Kaduna. They ‘ll be playing the role of the 12th man on the pitch. 

The former Juventus midfielder admitted that the Egyptians are a strong side as most of their players play together in the domestic league, but stated that full support is what the team needs to bring the Pharaohs down.

He said: “I have watched their tape and they are result-oriented. Their power lies in the midfield and defence and upfront, they have one Mohammed Saleh.

“He has speed and if unchecked, can be a spoiler. But we are Nigerians and are playing at home. We have our own players and a crowd that will play a part to bring them down.

“That is why I am appealing that every Nigerian should come together for us to ensure victory for our dear country.”

The much awaited encounter will hold at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, in Kaduna on Match 25.

Egypt lead the group with six points from two matches, two points ahead of Nigeria with only the group winners guaranteed automatic qualification to the final tournament in Gabon.
