Marathon: Lagos expects 50 world class athletes Thursday
– World class athletes are expected in Lagos for the marathon
– Lagos City marathon is slated for Saturday February 6, 2016
– All participants are expected to move to the Expo Center to get their race bibs and numbers
Ahead of the Lagos city marathon which is scheduled for Saturday February 6, atleast 50 elite athletes are expected to arrive the country by Thursday, officials have confirmed.
According to the general manager for the marathon race, Yusuf Alli, most of the expected athletes would be coming from Kenya, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Bahrain, Cameroon and Rwanda.

He however disclosed that the visitors would drive straight to the Expo Center to get their race bibs and numbers for the Marathon race which will start at 7:00am at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere.
“The athletes will also be warmly received by chairman of Lagos State Sports Commission and head of the Organising Committee for the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon, Deji Tinubu.
“We are expecting the bulk of our elite athletes on Thursday from their respective bases, they are all eager to be here for the Lagos City Marathon” Alli stated.
