Unbelievable! Nigeria move up FIFA ranking table
– The Super Eagles have moved-up the FIFA ranking table
– Nigeria are now 63rd in the world and 12th best team in Africa
– Belgium are still the no. 1 best team in the world
Despite their early exit from the ongoing Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) in Rwanda, Super Eagles of Nigeria have moved up three places on the latest FIFA ranking released on Thursday February 4, 2016.
The Nigerian national team are now 63rd best football team in the world and 12th in Africa.

The world football governing body had in 2015 revealed that CHAN will also be used as a yard stick to measure team form, and performance of the home based national teams will reflect at the FIFA world rankings.
However, African champions, Cote d’Ivoire remain the best team in Africa, while Algeria and Cape Verde Islands are 28th and 33rd in the World and 2nd and 3rd in Africa respectively.
Nigeria’s next opponent at the 2017 Africa Nations Cup (AFCON) qualifier Egypt are 55th in the world and 8th in Africa.

Belgium continues to occupy the number one position, while Argentina and Spain are second and third respectively, with Brazil occupying the sixth position.
