President Muhammadu Buhari has received Ms. Chi Onwurah, UK Member of Parliament with her team at the Statehouse in Abuja on February 16, Tuesday.
The president while addressing to the MPs gave the assurance that his government will rebuild Nigeria to a desirable position.
A statement published by Buhari’s media aide Femi Adesina, quoted the president as saying that the country expects a lot from Britain in her rebuilding process, due to the friendship shared by the two countries.

He said: “We are going to rebuild Nigeria, and there are vast opportunities for Britain and us.
“We share very close ties and our expectation from you is high.’’
Buhari claimed that Nigeria had found herself in a phase of development, “which is not a very welcome one.
“We are disorganised because we relied on mono-economic product for too long, and now that oil price is down, we have to go back to agriculture and solid minerals.

“Tin, columbite, cocoa, groundnut and others, used to be the basis of our economy, but then, oil came, and everybody began to look for cheap money.
“Now, we need to start all over again.’’
According to Onwurah, Nigerian-born MP for Newcastle, the team was in the country to boost positive action between Nigeria and the UK.
“We are stronger when we build on ties of the past,’’ she said.
President Buhari recently returned to Nigeria after a five-day vacation in the United Kingdom.
He began the vacation after a trip to France where he addressed the EU Parliament and and another to the UK for the Syria Supporting Conference.
President Buhari also met with Nigerians in the UK on February 5 before the vacation began.
