In USA: Retired priest steal $1.9 million from church

Earl Simone has been sentenced to 5 years in prison and asked to payback of stolen funds.

Earl Simone, 75 year old retired Roman Catholic priest who was accused of stealing $1.9 million from his former church in Ohio has been sentenced to 5 years in prison and restitution of stolen funds.

This was decided after Simone admitted and pleaded guilty to the financial crime on Thursday, March 11, 2016.

According to the statement released by simone’s lawyer, the former priest admitted to the claims saying it all happened when he was the administrator of four other parishes within 2008 and 2015.

The Archdiocese of Cincinnat handed the case to the police to investigating after noticing several financial irregularities.
