Klopp said: “I don’t want Dortmund next. Why would I want the strongest team in the tournament? All my friends in Dortmund want to play us – but only in Basel. They won at Tottenham, not too bad. When you saw all the results there are only good teams in the race. It’s cool, last eight – perfect.”
And Klopp admits the second leg was troublesome: “Yes, there were moments we knew they would show a reaction. They were much more intensive than in the first game, we had a little bit of trouble with them winning second balls in the first half. But when we used the ball with the extra time we had, we created wonderful chances. De Gea had another good night. They got a penalty – I think it was a penalty – then Phil had a genius moment. It was a wonderful moment.”
