PDP candidate faults conduct of FCT council polls
Sani Nasiru, the candidate for the PDP councilor election, has voiced his dissatisfaction with the conduct of the Independent National Electoral commission (INEC) on the conduct of the FCT council election.
Speaking exclusively to NAIJ.com, Nasiru said he got complains over forgotten result materials for some polling units in a particular ward in Abaji area council.
“We got complain from one of the Gawu wards that there is a particular unit, Damike where the INEC failed to take the result sheet down to the place.
“And that when the electoral officer was contacted he simply said they forgot that is very very shameful and disgraceful of the INEC.
“Such a sensitive material like the result should not have been forgotten, I pray and hope it will not bring us anything funny in this result, in this process. Because so far the process have remained peaceful,” he said.

Nasiru wondered how soon the results sheets would get to Gawu ward with the long distance of three hours between the INEC headquarters.
Fayo Emmanuel, the electoral officer in charge of Abaji area council, in his reaction said the commission is not be blamed for the incident.
“As of yesterday, the supervisor for the Gawu ward counted and signed his materials only for him to call today after 24 hours he left here to say that his results sheets are short of six,” he said.
Emmanuel also said he has sent new sets of result sheets to Gawu, a ward three hours away from Abaji central ward where the INEC office is located.
“This same guy also called yesterday midnight to say that his vehicle for spoilt in the midnight we asked him to hang on so we can send another vehicle to him but he called later to say the some of his colleagues posted some other area close by came back to pick him up,” Emmanuel added.
