Finally! Army sends Jonathan’s ADC back to UK
– Former Goodluck Jonathan’s aide de camp has been asked to go back to his military course in the United Kingdom
– Ojogbane Adegbe was called back from UK following involvement in the $2.1 billion arms deal, an allegation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)
– His colleague, a special adviser to former national security adviser, Sambo Dasuki is also suffering the same fate as Adegbe
The Nigerian army on Tuesday, April 12, asked former president, Goodluck Jonathan’s aide de camp to return to his promotional military course in the United Kingdom.
Ojogbane Adegbe, an army colonel was called back to Nigeria on February 10, by the army provost marshal following allegations of his involvement in the $2.1 billion arms deal saga popularly called the DasukiGate.
A reliable source told NAIJ.com that Adegbe’s release back to the UK is an effort by the army to enable him complete his course abroad.

Another source also told NAIJ.com that the Royal College of Defence Studies, United Kingdom were Adegbe was studying had earlier written to the colonel stating that he will be taken back to continue his studies once he was released by the Nigerian army.
Adegbe’s return to his studies comes one month after he was released from a prolonged detention by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on the orders of an Abuja High Court.
The court’s order came after Adegbe filed a suit against the commission over a prolonged infringement on his fundamental human rights.
However, similar to Adegbe’s case, another serving military colonel, Nicholas Ashinze who was also held by the EFCC and subsequently the Nigerian army over the related issue is yet to be reinstated to his former position.

Ashinze served as a special assistant to the embattled former national security adviser, Sambo Dasuki.
Like Adgebe, Ashinze was called back from his appointment as Nigeria’s Defence Attaché to Germany.
It is however not clear why the former is yet to be reinstated after a court order has facilitated his release from detention
The spokesperson to the Nigerian army, Sani Usman told NAIJ.com that is not aware of Adegbe’s return to his military course nor Ashinze’s reinstatement.
“I wouldn’t know, I have been away from Abuja for a military operation,” Usman said.
