In Ile Ife: Ex-LG chairman commends INEC for smooth conduct of by-election
He said that INEC officials arrived at the polling units early enough, adding that all the election materials were also sufficient.
Dr Kunle Adeniji, a one-time Chairman of Ife Central Local Government Council, on Saturday applauded INEC for the hitch-free conduct of the by-election in Ife Central state constituency.
Adeniji gave the commendation in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ile-Ife on Saturday.
He said that INEC officials arrived at the polling units early enough, adding that all the election materials were also sufficient.
He said that the officials handled voters’ accreditation and voting in a meticulous manner, adding that voters also exercised their franchise in an orderly manner.
Adeniji, who noted that the election was devoid of any form of violence or intimidation, said that he had earlier warned the youth to abstain from all kinds of electoral malpractice.
Also speaking, Mrs Mulikat Asungbalaja, the Woman Leader of the PDP in Ife Central, told NAN that she was very happy that all the voter accreditation and voting processes were hitch-free.
She also commended the electorate for promoting a peaceful election.
