“Chelsea’s season is a disaster”
– Chelsea’s interim coach Guus Hiddink has dubbed his team’s season as a disaster

– He says he had to re-set the team’s goals and that is why they look more destined to finish in the top half of the league despite a torrid start
Chelsea’s season, which leaves the London side no chance of making it to Europe next season is a “disaster”, according to Guus Hiddink.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of the Blues clash against Liverpool on Wednesday, May 11, Hiddink said Chelsea’s season can be consider as a failure even as the team failed to challenge for silverware.

“Yeah, it would be a disaster. Of course, when I talk about big words like disaster, I think of bigger things in the world.
“When we zoom into the football world, you may call it a disaster. Chelsea must be always in the top, as they are used to. Even better, fighting for silverware.
“I was asked to get out of relegation zone, with no other targets. I talked in a positive way when unexpected things happened before. You re-set your goals, as a team, which we did.”

Hiddink took over the Blues from Jose Mourinho in December after the Portuguese was given the marching orders, following a torrid start to the season.
Hiddink took over to steady the ship and steer his side to safety, with the club now on course for a mid-table finish to their season.
