Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state has sacked his entire media team for an undisclosed reason, The Punch reports.
This was contained in a statement by the chief of staff to the governor, Chief Chijioke Nwakodo.
Although no reason was given for the governor’s action, sources have linked the sack to the careless handling of the recent visit of Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state has sacked his entire media team for an undisclosed reason.
NAIJ.com recalls that Tambuwal had visited Abia state to commission some road projects, but unfortunately Ikpeazu’s media team were said to have caused the government serious embarrassment.
It was also gathered that there has been animosity amongst members of the media team since Governor Ikpeazu’s assumption into office.

Sources further claimed that there was never a centralized communication pattern as even the personal assistant to the Governor also issues press statements which at times conflicts with the ones from the media team.
The sacked media team was headed by Godwin Adindu, the chief press secretary to the governor.
He was asked to hand over government property in their possession to the permanent secretary, government house, Umuahia.
Governor Ikpeazu’s media team was made up of 15 persons.
