Three suspected associates of runaway ex-militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo arrested by the Nigerian Army have been released.

The suspects were arrested two weeks ago on suspicion that they had links with the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) and know the whereabouts of the runaway ex-militant leader.

According to Vanguard, one of the suspects, Ayiri, an Itsekiri, is a driver to the chief security officer (CSO) to Tompolo.

Another, Simeone Bebenimibo, hails from Okerenkoko community, Gbaramatu kingdom in the state.

Recall that Tompolo cried out last week in an open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari, accusing two APC politicians in Delta state of working in connivance with security agents to tarnish his image because of their greed for money and pipeline contracts.

He said his family and associates were under siege by the army, navy and DSS, while his 84-year-old father, Chief Thomas Ekpemupolo, brutalized by soldiers had his leg amputated recently by doctors to save his life.

His family also appealed to President Buhari to put a stop to the continued military assault and brutality on members, saying the witch-hunt of Tompolo by APC leaders in the area does not represent national interest.

Meanwhile, the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), has told President Muhammadu Buhari to look for Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) within his government.

The Nation reports that Udengs Eradiri, the president of the group, revealed this to the press at the headquarters of the council in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state.

He also lamented endless linkage of avengers and criminals in Lagos state to Ijaw people.
