Aliyu backs Fayose, calls Mu’azu to resign

Aliyu-Babangida

It seem the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Adamu Mu’azu have a lot of people who isn’t happy with him and really want him out of office, Governor of Niger state, Babangida Aliyu has also followed Fayose step in urging leaders of PDP to emulate the British political leaders, who resigned after their party was defeated in Thursday’s election.

Aliyu, who gave the advice in Dutse at the inauguration of a township road named after the then “G7 Governors’’ by Governor of Jigawa state, Sule Lamido on Saturday said that any leader, who led his political party to defeat, like it happened to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is supposed to resign.

‘’It is unfortunate that people had to be called to resign. The leaders are supposed to voluntarily resign their positions for the loss at the just concluded general elections.

‘It is unfair that they are threatening to form a factional PDP because they were asked to resign,” he said.

Aliyu noted that morality and principle were key attributes the PDP must imbibe to succeed for future elections stating that what happened in UK was a reflection of morality and principle, which must be brought to the Nigerian polity.

Governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose had earlier engaged Mu’azu, in a war of words over the defeat of the party in the 2015 general elections, calling on Mu’azu and others in the party’s National Working Committee to resign.
