As Goodluck Jonathan nears the twilight of his tenure as President of Nigeria, he has embarked on sacking spree.
The President has terminated the appointment of several government agency bosses and replaced them with immediate effect.
A brief recap of those sacked by the President:
Wife of the Vice President, Hajia Amina Sambo, on Saturday in Abuja, said she would go back to the classroom to acquire more knowledge after the expiration of her husband’s tenure on May 29.
She also advised Nigerians to pray for the incoming administration of President-elect Muhammadu Buhari.
According to her, she will continue to remain accessible, even though she did not disclose which institution or course of study she intends to pursue.
Hajia Sambo, a graduate of Political Science from the Bayero University, Kano, spoke at a ceremony organised in her honour by the Coalition of Nigerian Muslim Women at the National Mosque, Abuja.
With the dwindling economy in not only Nigeria but also Sub-Saharan Africa countries, Governor of Delta state, Emmanuel Uduaghan has also saw the need for diversification of the economy and has stressed the need for Sub-Saharan Africa countries to fashion out a new value system and diversifies their economies to achieve economic progress.
Uduaghan, who said disclosed this in Ibadan at the 2nd National Public Lecture of the University of Ibadan (UI), ALUMNI Association, held at the Trenchard hall, UI, called for reduction of poverty on Saturday.
Plateau State Government on Friday said its current debt profile was N18 billion and not N200 billion as being speculated.
Commissioner for Information and Communication in the state, Mr Abubakar Badu, stated this at a news briefing in Jos shortly after the State’s Executive Council meeting.
Badu said that the council deliberated on the misinformation regarding the true indebtedness of the state particularly as it concerned the bond the government recently secured.
