I Remain The Paramount Ruler Of Ikorodu- Ayangburen Reinstates

The Ayanbguren of Ikorodu, Oba Kabir Adewale Sotobi, (Adegorushen V), has described as “shameful”, reports which surfaced in the media, that the staff of office presented to him by immediate past governor of Lagos state, Babatunde Fashola, was fake.

The second most powerful monarch in Lagos state after Oba Rilwan Akiolu, while addressing a group of journaists under the aegis of League of Journalists Ikorodu (LJI) at the Ipebi (a traditional school where obas in Ikorodu undergo training for a certain period before their coronation) on Wednesday, tasked the men of the pen and paper to be objective with their reports and ensure they find out facts before writing their reports.

This advice is coming on the heels of some reports which discredited the staff of office received by the former Odofin of Ikorodu by Fashola before the expiration of the ex-governor’s tenure.

The self-styled ‘Ilufemiloba’ has now stated assuredly that the former governor gave him the staff of office during the installation and it has remained so.

“Do you know the amount of tax payers money that the former governor spent in coming down here with the helicopter to present the staff of office to me?

“I know that you cannot be perfect, but you have to be sure of your findings before writing them so that you do not bring disrepute to your organisation and yourself. For someone to have confidently said that the staff of office presented was not authentic, was a very wrong expression.

“Therefore, as my children, I would advise you to keep praying for me to succeed on this throne, I would implore you to keep praying for the prosperity of Ikorodu and also pray that I will come out of the Ipebi in peace and not in pieces,” the Ayangburen stated.

Meanwhile, some members of the Lambo Lasunwon ruling house are still unhappy over the ascension of Oba Sotobi to the throne.
