Gas Explosion Rocks Jigawa Market, Kills 7
No fewer than seven people were killed in Jigawa state when a welding gas cylinder exploded in Ruba village of Kafin Hausa local government area of the state.
Speaking about the incident, Malam Muhammad Gudado, the state commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, said that the cylinder exploded around 12:23 pm on July 12, Sunday, in the market on a market day.
The commander said that seven people were killed, two sustained injuries. He added that the remains of those who died have been handed over to their families for burial, while the injured had been taken to hospital for medical attention by his men operating in the area.

PM News reports that Gidado called on Nigerians to be extra careful while using fire and added that the investigation was still ongoing to ascertain the cause of the recent explosion.
Earlier this year, the gas explosion that happened in Ago Area of Okota area of Lagos also killed several people.
