Gbajabiamila’s emergence As Leader Will Not End House crisis – Hon. Odeneye
Hon. Kehinde Odeneye (APC Ijebuode, Odogbolo and Ijebu North-East, Ogun state) on Monday has said that the emergence of the house leader, Femi Gbajabiamila does not mark an end to the crisis in the House of Representatives.
Mr Odeneye disclosed this in an interview with newsmen in Abuja that Mr Gbajabiamila emergence was wanted by most of the lawmakers but cannot halt the ongoing crisis.
“Unfortunately, if we had known that this is where we are going, we should not have started the crisis in the first place.

“The emergence of Femi to me is a very good thing in the House of Representatives because of his experience for the fact that he had served as minority leader.
“However, his emergence may not necessarily end the crisis in the House.
“Why I said that is before his emergence, there has been a lot of bad blood friends have come against each other.
“This ordinarily would not have been if things had been put in proper perspectives and harmonized.
“His emergence will be the beginning of the end of the crisis but not necessarily the end of the crisis as an immediate thing,” he said.
Mr Odeneye also expressed optimism that the lawmakers might put all their differences aside in the house of representatives and work together for the good of the country.
“I also expect that we will all put our personal interest aside now and face the responsibilities we have to deliver to our constituents and to Nigeria as a country”, he said.

He also added that the House will proceed to immediately work on security related issues and the country’s economy.
He also stated that Nigerians should expect more vibrancy from the lawmakers as they are ready to work with the executive to deliver the democratic dividends that Nigerians are yearning for
In reaction to the request that President Muhammadu Buhari should make public former President Goodluck Jonathan’s handover note, he said he knows that not every content of the note can be made public but economy related contents and development projects should be made public for Nigerians to see.
