My Appointment Is Serious National Assignment – Kachikwu
Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, newly appointed head of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), asked well-meaning individuals for support instead of sponsoring congratulatory advertisement on his appointment.
Kachikwu, who assumed duty as the 17th GMD of the corporation on August 5, said that his appointment is a serious national task that does not need the triviality of adverts and the celebration they bring.

New boss of the NNPC was speaking through his spokesperson Ohi Alegbe.
He said he would rather appreciate that friends fund him with prayers for heavenly leadership to carry out the heavy task ahead.
It should be noted that prior to his appointment, Kachikwu who took over from Joseph Dawha, was the executive vice chairman and general counsel of Exxon-Mobil (Africa).

President Buhari has established committees to commence the probe of the NNPC and other institutions of the previous government of former president Goodluck Jonathan.
In a bid to reform oil sector Buhari’s administration has also planned to split the NNPC.
