Kogi Election: Read APC’s Abubakar Audu 3 Point Agenda (Photos)
The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the November 21 governorship election in Kogi state, Prince Abubakar Audu, has unveiled a three- point agenda he would pursue, if elected.
Audu unveiled the agenda at Alu, Yagba East Local Council Area of the state while receiving hundreds of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, decampees from Yagba Federal Constituency.
He promised to focus on power shift, declare a state of emergency in critical sectors of the state and concentrate on ‘stomach infrastructure.’

“Let me make my three-point agenda known to the people of the state because I want to be held responsible for my word later when I gain power. First, I will make sure that power shift becomes sacrosanct. I will be the first governor to change power in the state. I must honour my agreement that after my full tenure I will ensure power rotation either to Kogi West or Kogi Central.
“I will declare state of emergency on the critical sectors of the state especially in the infrastructural sector. Shortly after I won my party primary, I took a trip outside the country where I met international business organisations, who by now are just waiting for me to be sworn-in so that they can come and invest in critical sectors of the state. “Lastly, the welfare of the people of the state remains a priority to me. Let no one deceive you, I have nothing but the best interest of the people at heart,” he said.
At another rally held in Ibaji, Kogi state, on October 12 Abubakar Audu, the APC gubernatorial candidate, lamented the poor state of infrastructure and promised to declare a state of emergency on infrastructural development in the area and in the whole of the state. He also welcomed decampees from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
In his speech, Hon. Achuba, a leader who formally decamped to the APC, stated that: “We are leaving PDP because all their promises to the people have turned out to be nothing but calculated lies”, and further stated that the people could no longer continue to support the party and the incumbent governor, Captain Idris Wada, for this reason.

He also described the massive turnout at the rally and the hundreds of decampees received as “a total removal of the PDP” from the local government. Others also commented on the infrastructural development which was witnessed during Audu’s previous tenure.
Thousands of people have decamped from the PDP to the APC in what analysts have described as a “mass exodus which will, no doubt, weaken the PDP and severely impair their chances of winning the November 21 gubernatorial election in Kogi state.”
Recall that PDP in Kogi state has called for the arrest of Abubakar Audu, over his call on his party supporters to kill on sight those he described as PDP thugs in the state.
Meanwhile, in line with the imminent governorship election in Kogi, there seems to be a high level of preparation on the part of security agencies in corroboration of the assurance that Governor Idris Wada gave on Wednesday, October 7, to provide adequate security for the electorates.
Also, the PDP has asked Nigerians to note the corruption credentials of the candidates of the APC in the forthcoming governorship elections in the states.
