Ogun Transport Authorities Confirm Number Of Arun Crash Casualties
Only five passengers were on board the bus that plunged into a river along Ore/Benin expressway, Naij.com has authoritatively gathered.
The 18 seater bus with registration number AKR 474 XA (ONDO) on Thursday, October 15, plunged into the river around 9:00 pm and reports say there were 18 passengers on board.
But in a chat with our correspondent this morning in his office, the spokesman of the State Traffic agency, TRACE, Tunde Akinbiyi said that the vehicle was not filled with passengers as reported by many media houses.

Our correspondent gathered that Akinbiyi got a text message which Femi Falemare, the secretary of the Road Transport Employer of Nigeria (RTEAN), sent to Ijebu from his Okitipupa branch, where he (Falemare) confirmed the incident.
The message which was sent by the secretary, RTEAN, Okitipupa branch, confirmed that two persons have been removed from the river while three are still inside the water. It also stated that the vehicle, which has since been removed, has been towed to Ogbere Police station.
The vehicle which was loaded with cosmetic products and was enroute to Okitipupa from Idumota, Lagos state.

As at the time of filling this report, the local divers, who have been assisting with the search for the remaining three bodies, have taken another route to see whether they can get them.
Security operatives like the Police, FRSC, TRACE and Vigilante Officers have been keeping watch on the area.
Another horrible accident happened at Gwarzo-Kano road almost a week ago, where at least 16 members of an extended family were crushed to death.
The victims, who were family members of the former managing director of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Halilu Getso, were on their way to a naming ceremony when the incident occurred.
