Special Task Force Uncovers Plot By Boko Haram To Attack Again, Warns Residents
Special Task Force in Plateau state, code-named Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), has warned residents to be alert following intelligence report that the Boko Haram insurgents were planning to attack Jos, the state capital and environs.
The STF said the insurgents were planning to attack parks, relaxation sports, mosque and churches, This Day reports.
A statement signed by Captain Iweha Ikedichi, the media and information officer of OPSH, urged residents to place security measures around their vicinity.
According to the task force, they had foiled planned attacks by the insurgents in the past two weeks.
“The planned attack, which has been consistently foiled by security operatives for about two weeks running, has already seen the increased presence of security personnel around identified flash points.

“The city has also witnessed an increase in check point activities and nipping points established at random at hitherto quiet places. Also, commercial vehicles and tricycle operators are equally enjoined to report any suspicious passenger in their vehicles to the nearest check point,” the statement read.
The OPSH assured residents that it was ready to respond promptly to any breach of security which is capable of causing possible death and destruction of property and also determined to protect lives and properties of all law abiding citizens.
Plateau state has recorded a number of attacks from gunmen which has left many dead and houses destroyed. On September 16, gunmen stormed Kadunung village in Mangu local government Area of the state, killing no fewer than 19 people and burning several houses.
Two days before that, Fulani herdsmen had attacked Zakupwang, Fan village in Foron district of Barkin Ladi local government area and killed 20 people.
