Golden Globes 2016: Taraji P Henson wins 'best actress in a TV series' [video]

Taraji P Henson beat Viola Davis, Robin Wright, Eva Green to win the 'best actress in a TV series' award for her character 'Cookie' in "Empire."

Taraji P Henson beat Outlander‘s Caitriona BalfeHow to Get Away With Murder‘s Viola DavisPenny Dreadful‘s Eva Green, and House of CardsRobin Wright to win the "Best Actress in a TV series" at the 2016 Golden Globes Awards.

 

The award marked the first-ever Golden Globe win for “Empire,” which was also nominated for best TV drama this year.

The actress handed out some cookies on her way up to the stage to accept her award.

“Who knew that playing an ex-convict would take me all around the globe? … So the world loves real. Thank you,” she said while receiving the award.

"I’m taking this home for the entire ‘Empire.' Terrence Howard, I am nothing without you. Cookie is nothing without Lucious!” she added.

'Empire' stars Terrence Howard, Taraji P. Henson, Jussie Smollett, Grace Gealey, Ta’Rhonda Jones, Kaitlin Doubleday, Bryshere Y. Gray among others.

 

The show added a long list of entertaining and exciting Guest stars  which includes  Marisa Tomei, Chris Rock, Alicia Keys, TyreseKelly Rowland, Lenny Kravitz, Ludacris andBecky Gomez.

'Empire's ratings took a dip when it returned for its second season, and according to rapper 50 Cent, the show’s ratings are declining as a result of too much ‘gay stuff’ on show.
"Empire" returns on March 30, 2016 for completion of its second season.
