"Birdman": Film wins "Score soundtrack for visual media" at 2016 Grammy awards

John Legend and Common's "Glory" for "Selma" also won the "best song written for visual media."

Antonio Sanchez, who composed the score for the multiple Oscar award winning film "Birdman," was sad when he was snubbed at the 2015 Oscars award ceremony.

On Monday, February 15, 2016, Sanchez won the "Score soundtrack for visual media" at 2016 Grammy awards.

Speaking backstage, he said “It’s awesome to get this, especially after being nixed by the Oscars. I have to thank this academy, because the other academy, I have nothing to thank them for. So it’s extra sweet."
