The Rivers state police has issued an alert on persons with gunshot injuries within the state.

In a statement released on Thursday, February 25, the Rivers state police command spokesperson, Ahmad Muahmmad called on residents to avail the police with information on people with injuries from gunshots.

Muhammad said the police is still in pursuit of some fleeing hoodlums that attacked a new generation bank in a government reserved area in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital city.

He added that the robbers carted away with unspecified amount of money on Wednesday, February 24 following an attack on the bank.

“The hoodlums while escaping through Oraozi were engaged in gun duel by policemen. The hoodlums having realized one of them was critically injured, they dump him at a hospital where the police catch up with him and interrogated him before he gave the ghost,” Muahmmad said.

He also said that the suspect gave his as Jude Ihediachi of Ugwu Chuku in Aniocha South, Delta State before he gave up his ghost.

“As the Command appeals for information about persons with gunshot injuries, it’s pertinent to state that the pursuit of the fleeing hoodlums is still on, please,” he said.
