Governor Nyesom Wike praises PDP

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has extolled the administration of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Today ng reports.

Speaking during an inspection tour of ongoing road projects in the state on March 30, he said the only political party that fulfills promises in the country is the PDP.

The governor, who urged the people of Etche to continue to support his administration and the PDP, promised to complete and commission most of the ongoing road projects by the first anniversary of his administration on May 29.

Wike while inspecting Igwuruta-Chokocho road, said: “continue to support my administration and the PDP. The PDP is the only party that fulfills its promises.”

He assured that the ongoing road construction in Obio/Akpor and Ikwerre local government areas would be sustained during the rainy season because of the technology being used.

The governor said the road projects would constantly be funded by his government because of their significance to the state’s economy.

Wike, who applauded the level of work at the Eliozu-Oro-Igwe road, Rukpokwu-Eneka road and the Igwuruta-Chokocho, urged the contractors to sustain the temple of work delivery.

“By May 29, we shall commission another set of roads in the state. I am impressed by the progress of work on the roads we inspected today.

“Though the rains are here, the construction of roads will continue. We are using sharp sand hence there will be no need to stop work on the roads,” he said.

Governor Wike on January 29, took to the streets of Port Harcourt, the state capital, and Obio-Akpor local government area after his victory at the Supreme Court to meet with the ordinary people of the state during a “meet the people victory parade” across the major residential areas.

Recall that the Supreme Court on January 27 upheld the mandate of the Wike as the state governor, thus, validating the result of the April 11 poll by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
