Cold war brews between Tinubu and Atiku over N1billion presidential campaign debt

There are indications that the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed TInubu and Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, a former vice president may soon be at loggerheads.
According to Signalng, Tinubu, a former Lagos state governor, has refused to repay a loan of N1 billion which he reportedly collected from Atiku during the 2015 presidential campaign.
Atiku and Tinubu may be heading for a showdown anytime soon.
Sources close to the impasse revealed on Monday, that political juggernauts may be heading for a showdown following the breach of contract.
The anonymous source informed that Atiku loaned Tinubu the sum of N1 billion in 2015 to finance deficits incurred during the presidential campaign which ushered in President Muhammadu Buhari, while promising to repay after the elections, but the latter refused to keep his part of the deal.
The source hinted: “Both men have managed to keep the issue out of the media space because of the sensitive nature, but there is a strong bone of contention between them.
“The issue is that Tinubu obtained a loan of N1 billion from Atiku during the 2015 presidential campaign and promised to repay the loan after the elections, but he’s not even ready to talk about it now and Atiku is sore pissed.”
Sunday Dare and Paul Ibe, Tinubu and Atiku’s respective spokespersons could not be reached for comments as at press time, but other sources confirmed to Signalng that there is friction between the pair.
