A source said that the late Uwais’s son, who secretly left Nigeria in February 2015 to join ISIS, was one of many terrorists who died as US army bombarded camps of the terrorists near the besieged Syrian city of Aleppo.
“Ibrahim died today on the battlefield in Aleppo,” he said.
The source continued that one of the two wives of Ibrahim can’t notify the family of his death as they are currently trapped in Syria.
NAIJ.com reports earlier that Ibrahim traveled to Syria in 2015, telling close family members he was headed to Turkey to look into business opportunities.
Uwais’s son took along his two wives and five kids. Meanwhile, he slipped from Turkey into Syria with his whole family and joined the growing army of volunteer insurgents who travel from various parts of the world to engage with ISIS, a group whose mission is to carve out an Islamist caliphate.
