In Bauchi: Angry youths attack new village head

The PPRO who stated this in a release made available to newsmen in Bauchi on Saturday, said the hoodlums also destroyed the windscreen of the village head’s vehicle.

Newly turbaned village head of Tafari village, Christopher Wuji has been attacked by angry youths, suspected to be from Tafawa Balewa Town of Tafawa Balewa local government area of Bauchi.

According to a report by Leadership, the village head was attacked and injured on Friday, April 29, 2016.

Confirming the incident, the police public relations officer (PPRO), Haruna Mohammed disclosed that the youths attacked the village head because he was turbaned as the village head by the emir of Bauchi instead of Gung Zaar.

The PPRO who stated this in a release made available to newsmen in Bauchi on Saturday, said the hoodlums also destroyed the windscreen of the village head’s vehicle.

On the 29/4/2016 at about 08:00am, youths suspected to be from Tafawa Balewa town, went to Tafari Village in Lere District of Tafawa Balewa LGA and attacked the village Head, one Christopher Wuji, male, of the same address, because he was turbaned as the village head by the emir of Bauchi instead of Gung Zaar.

'As a result, the victim sustained various degrees of injuries and his Peugeot 406 Windscreen was destroyed. Police patrol team attached to Tafawa Balewa Division led by DPO, visited the scene and rushed the victim to ATBU Teaching hospital Bauchi for treatment,' he said.
