IPOB reveals what Kanu predicted about Fulani herdsmen attacks
– Nnamdi Kanu long predicted the current mindless killings by Fulani herdsmen, IPOB has said
– The Biafran separatist group said before the 2015 election, Kanu warned against the grave implications of Muhammadu Buhari’s presidency but he was not taken seriously
– The group’s spokesman, Emma Powerful said the Fulani will take over the entire south as a continuation of their age-long agenda to Islamize eastern Nigeria
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has condemned the recent attack on Uzo-Uwani community in Enugu state by Fulani herdsmen who killed over 40 persons there.
The group said this was part of the reasons the agitation for Biafra was renewed, Vanguard reports.
The Biafran separatist group said the detained director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu long predicted the current Fulani herdsmen attacks on south eastern communities.
Emma Powerful, IPOB’s spokesman, in a statement on Saturday, April 30, said Kanu had warned against the grave implications of Muhammadu Buhari’s presidency but many people did not take him seriously.
The statement read: “As they campaign vigorously for elections, you would think, they are coming to grow the economy, enthrone justice, breed unity and tolerance, love for one another.

“No, they are coming to enthrone Hausa/Fulani supremacy, to reposition the security agencies by sacking all competent hands and replace them with their kinsmen in order to drive their ethnic domination of the south. The Fulani herdsmen will be armed and encouraged to slaughter us with impurity and their masters will protect them.
“They are coming to ensure that my people are enslaved forever. Those who do not believe me will soon see it happen before their eyes.
“The Fulani will take over the entire south as a continuation of their age-long agenda to Islamize Eastern Nigeria. They will brazenly seize our land in pretence of creating grazing fields for the Fulani. Then the conquest will be complete, we will become their serfs forever.”
IPOB said before the 2015 elections, Kanu said none was good between former president, Goodluck Jonathan and Buhari and the former was weak and confused while the latter was a tyrant, who will destroy the land.
According to the group, Kanu had also predicted that a group deadlier than Boko Haram would be unleashed to the south to destabilise eastern people and economy.

“Then a group deadlier than Boko Haram will emerge, they will seize our farmland, rape our women, kill our people and their master will protect, defend and even arm them, because their sole agenda is to enslave us forever. Those who cannot see it now, will soon see it. The hatred in their souls for my people is legendary. They do not see us as humans. They kill, they slaughter, they burn and they destroy. Mindless bloodletting is in their DNA. My people are in trouble,” Kanu was quoted as having said then.
IPOB said it would not compromise its non-violent stance in the struggles for independence and it would retaliate the unwarranted attacks on south eastern communities by Fulani herdsmen.
Different groups have given the Fulani herdsmen an ultimatum to leave the southern part of the country, vowing to retaliate if the attacks continue.
Despite the threats, the herdsmen have said nobody can stop them from grazing in any part of the country as such restriction was unconstitutional.
