Ojuawo is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at the FCT High Court, Apo Abuja for his alleged involvement in the controversial $2.1bn arms purchase scandal.

The antigraft agency shared the pictures on its official Facebook page with the caption: “Find below, the picture of Air Vice Marshal Ojuawo, a serving officer of the Nigerian Airforce, who is being prosecuted by the EFCC at the FCT High Court, Apo Abuja for fraud. He came to court in his full Airforce regalia. Indeed, with EFCC, nobody is above the law. We shall serve you details later.”

Operatives of the anti-graft agency arrested Ojuawo in February at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on his way out of the country.

He was arrested while accompanying the chief of defence staff, Gen. Gabriel Olonisakin, to a meeting of the United States Africa Command in Germany.

Ojuawo was the director of operations when Alex Badeh was the chief of air staff.

Badeh and other army officers have been indicted in the $2.1 billion arms scam. Badeh is currently in the custody of the EFCC.

He denied his involvement in the looting of $2.1 billion meant for purchase of arms, saying he was being persecuted by anti-graft agency for no just cause.
