JUST IN: President Buhari appoints new security chief
– Muhammadu Buhari received new security chief just a day after news came out that the Niger Delta militants exposed a coup plot against incumbent government
– Buhari urged new officers to live up to their duties
President Muhammadu Buhari has today, June 23, decorated two of the newly promoted officers of the Nigerian Police Force deployed to his office with their new ranks.
Premium Times reports that the president tasked public officers entrusted with certain responsibilities to live up to their duties and justify the confidence reposed in them as this was the only way Nigeria can get out of the current hardships facing the country.

The two officers Abdulkarim Dauda and Kayode Sikiru Akande, were promoted from the position of assistant commissioner of police to deputy commissioner of police. They serve as the Chief Personal Security Officer to the president and the Officer in Charge of Presidential Movement correspondingly.
Buhari commended the officers and advised them to justify their new ranks by increasing their commitment to the service of the nation.
The president also praised them for their hard work and achievements which brought about their nomination.
The leader of the nation added that the country needed their devotion and firm commitment for it to achieve greatness and assume its rightful position, cautioning them not to abuse their positions.
This came just a day since Niger Delta militants alleged plot by the Nigerian army to overthrow the government of Muhammadu Buhari.

However, Nigeria army’s spokesman Colonel Sani Usman denied the claim and tagged it as a dangerous speculation.
